To know me, is to know I love Al Gore. After doing some work on his campaign in 2000, I was really drawn in by his family and am really sad to hear about the end of his and Tipper’s relationship. (Reuters) - Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have decided to separate after 40 years of marriage, they announced on Tuesday. The Gores, in an e-mail message confirmed by their office, said the decision was made “after a great deal of thought and discussion.” “This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration,” they said. “We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.” Al Gore, a Democrat, who was Bill Clinton’s vice president for eight years, narrowly lost the presidency to Republican George W. Bush in 2000 and won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work against global climate change. During the Democratic National Convention in 2000, the Gores exchanged a long, passionate kiss on stage that became famous.

Just checked my email and found this sad, sad message along with a refund for my Interpol tickets:
Good day to you all.
Unfortunately, due to the postponement of the upcoming U2 US dates, Interpol has had to rework its summer tour schedule.
With the exception of four shows, we have had to cancel our announced dates.
Shows in Rochester, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Allentown will be happening.
The rest of the shows will be rescheduled. If you have purchased tickets for a canceled date, you will see a full refund in the next few days.
We lament the change in plans, apologize for the inconvenience, and assure you that we’ll do you right - when the time is right and the light is nice.

I spent yesterday watching the Return of the Jedi & Empire Strikes Back. Somehow, this weekend I have managed to escape all responsibility. Real life starts promptly again tomorrow. I’m kinda scared.

I love this video of Jane’s Addiction’s Cinco de Mayo performance in LA, beautifully shot by the talented and funny (and I am sure if he were reading this he would appreciate if I threw in that he is hot, too) Todd Newman. Although I am a big fan of Eric Avery, it seems Duff McKagen has skillfully filled the void he left.
My friends and I had so much fun driving around the country and seeing these guys play shows last summer; every time they play out (in whatever incarnation) I get excited at the possibilities of getting to do that again. Here’s to summer dreams, y’all.
