Boombox Saint

In my life, I’ve spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours enjoying live music, but maybe none were so precious as the first few hours spent watching Whitney Houston play Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia during August, 1986.  Hers was my first concert.  I remember so many details from that night, it could have happened 25 days ago just as easily as it happened 25 years ago.  Today, I’m going to remember her in that way, as the lady that offered so much that it sparked a life-long love of live performance.   Way to go, Whitney; you’ll be missed.
