I missed the boat on the Velvet Underground resurgence in the late ’90s.  I am thinking it was because I was too close to the boat, given the circumstance that some of you reading this may, in fact, be related to one of the members of the legendary band.  haha  Thing is, I caught the next cruise, and it was great.  The Velvets made fabulous, ahead-of-their-time tunes which, coupled with their notable aesthetic, deserve to be celebrated.

I just heard about the release of the book, The Velvet Underground: An Illustrated History of a Walk on the Wild Side by Jim DeRogatis and it has been officially added to my Christmas List (and by “Christmas List” I mean as-soon-as-I-get-to-the-bookstore-you-will-be-mine-list).  I just thought some of you would like to add it to yours too.

p.s. If Xmas break leads us back to D-town this year, one of you better get this thing signed for me too. ;)
